Catalogue d'oiseux An investigatory project based on an atonal piece of music: Olivier Messaiens "Catalogue d'oiseux" To understand the chosen music piece, which is easily percieved as a complete chaos, I had to deconstruct it, note by note. My goal was to find a pattern with in the mess of different notes and tones which seemed completely at random. The sketches where then realized with the observer/wearer having to step into the piece, becoming one with the pattern. Catalogue d'oiseux consist of two pieces, one slow processed one and one with a quick process. The quick processed one is made with transfer print and the slow processed one is made with reservage technique and reactive colour. |
